  Final Competition:

Carleton University's Faculty of Engineering is pleased to announce a robotics competition! The engineering design project "RoboFlag" consists of six student-built robots playing cooperative and adversarial games of capture the flag. The competition will take place from noon-2PM in the Architecture Pit.

Sixteen 4th-year engineering students (from the Dept. of Electronics and the Dept. of Systems and Computer Engineering at Carleton) have been designing and building these autonomous mobile robots for more than seven months. Details regarding the competition (and some high-resolution photos of the robots) are available at http://roboflag.carleton.ca/.

  • What: Carleton University Robotics Competition, "RoboFlag"
  • When: Saturday, March 16, 2002 at 12PM. Will last ~2 hours.
  • Where: Architecture Pit, Carleton University (directions on webpage)
  • Who: Graduating Engineering students, local high-tech employees.
  • Cost: None, free parking is available nearby.
  • Audience: highschool, university, media, hightech, hobbyists, etc.

Directions and Map:

Check out some maps of the area: mapquest, Carleton. Mapquest's is zoomable, but Carleton's map has a higher level of detail on the campus.

Directions:
Exit the Queensway (417) at Bronson and head south. Go through three or four traffic lights and cross the Rideau Canal. Turn right onto Carleton's campus after the bridge. Follow the signs to Parking Lot 2, then walk into the funky looking Architecture building.
